LUCIDarling - Glitter gradient nail art tutorial

This is a nail polish of Etude House : LUCIDarling Fantastic nails Purple Ruby. This polish was in the surprise package that I received a few days ago and I'm totally in LOVE with it ^o^!
I'm loving the heart packaging, the purple color, the glitters and there are even stars in this polish ♥ so cute! One coat of the nail polish is actually thick enough. I also want to have  LUCIDarling: Pink topaz, which is the pink version of this polish, for sure ^o^ it's so pretty !!!
I did a glitter gradient nail art today ^__^! This is my tutorial - it's easy as always:
Step 1: Apply a base coat and wait for it till it dries.
Step 2: Apply some silver glittery nail polish on your nails and stop at the line. Let this dry.
Step 3: Apply a very thin layer of a purple glittery nail polish on your nails.
Step 4: Apply a layer on your tips of your nails and let this dry.
Step 5: Apply a top coat, let it dry and you're done ;).
I have used the following nail polishes...
- Step 1: Base coat from HEMA, a Dutch store.
- Step 2: Multi dimension 3 in 1 nail polish with XXXL shine from Essence.
- Step 3: Etude House LUCIDarling Fantastic Nails : Purple Ruby
- Step 4: Etude House LUCIDarling Fantastic Nails : Purple Ruby
- Step 5: Top coat from China Glaze

I've read positive reviews about the Himalaya Herbals products lately and it made me curious to try it out. It's always good to try the products first before you buy the full size tube of it, since your skin may react bad to it. The products are manufactured in India.

Swatch: Missha BB Cream Comparison

I have been using Missha BB creams longer than a year now and I'm still loving it ^__^. This is my review of the Missha M Perfect Cover BB Cream which I posted last year. A while ago Suzy gave me a sample of the Missha M Perfect Cover BB Cream #21 and the M Signature Real Complete BB cream #23. I had never tried the M signature BB cream before so I was curious what the difference was compared to the M Perfect Cover. I used to use the M Perfect Cover #23 all the time, but my skin tone turned whiter because of the winter >.<" (my face is a bit pale/yellowish atm), so #21 matches my skin tone more now. I'm going to use #23 during the summer again ^__^.
M Perfect Cover BB Cream
M Perfect Cover BB Cream gives an even and natural-looking coverage with the soothing, moisturizing properties of a cream. It is suitable for all skin types including acne-prone skin, and can be used as a makeup base or foundation. It has whitening, anti-wrinkle and UV protection (SPF 42 PA+++).

M Signature Real Complete BB cream

The M Signature Real Complete BB Cream is a multi-function BB cream with perfect coverage, good adherence and long lasting effect. It's from the luxurious line of Missha that contains Skin lipid. It also has UV protection SPF 25 / PA++ , anti-wrinkle and brightening effect.

Swatch
I did a swatch on my hand (which is a bit lighter than my face) and compared the color of the 3 Missha BB creams:
It looks like this in daylight, as you can see M Perfect Cover #21 matches my skin tone the most. According to the packaging this color is light beige. M Perfect Cover #23 is natural beige and the Signature #23 is natural yellow/beige. They all have a grey undertone but the Signature #23 looks orange on my face =.=".

Packaging
It has a pretty packaging, easy to use and hygienic ^__^. These BB Creams comes in a squeeze tube with a hygienic pump dispenser.

When you can't pump the BB cream out anymore I advise you to cut the tube open. I'm sure that there is still heaps of BB cream inside the squeeze tube, so cut it open and put the left over BB cream in a small tin.

Texture
The texture of the Perfect Cover #21 and #23 is creamy while the texture of the Signature BB cream is more liquid. The Signature BB cream has more coverage (medium-full) than the Perfect Cover one (medium). These products have a light pleasant scent of a floral hand cream, but I like the scent of Perfect Cover more than the Signature BB cream. All BB creams are easy to build up and you will only need a small amount of the product.

Amount and price
Perfect Cover comes in a tube of 50ml for 29.99 USD and has 4 shades and the Signature comes in a tube of 45g for 45 USD and has 3 shades. These prices are from the Missha USA website. I'm sure of it that you can find cheaper ones on Ebay :).

Which one is better?
These BB creams are all very good ^__^. However if I had to choose between the M Perfect cover #23 and the Signature #23, I would choose Perfect Cover cause it matches my skin more during summer, the scent is more pleasant, has a higher SPF, I like the texture more and I don't need much coverage on my face (medium is enough). I just don't like the color of the #23 Signature BB cream cause it's orange on my skin x_x".

Which BB Creams do you recommend?

Review: CURE Natural Aqua Gel [Part 2/2]

I'm posting about this product again cause CURE is just awesome and I want to prove it to you guys xD. Have you missed the review about this product that I wrote? Read it here: http://www.memorable-days.net/2011/02/review-cure-natural-aqua-gel.html.

A friend of mine and Tasja asked me if there will be any white clotting if I put some CURE Natural Aqua Gel on a mirror or board. It's possible that those white stuff/clotting aren't dead skin cells, but the product itself which is dried up. To answer this question I wanted to try it on a glass table myself. So I had put some CURE Natural Aqua Gel on a table and this is the result- see my boring HD video and the pictures below. My camera ain't that great for videos =(.

I did this for 5 minutes but nothing happened \^o^/. So I believe that you're really removing your dead skin cells when you put the Cure aqua gel on your skin.

Review: CURE Natural Aqua Gel [Part 1/2]

AMAZING PRODUCT ALERT O____O"!!!! You have probably heard or seen this product on Youtube or on blogs before. Cure is a product of Japan. It has been selling well in the market for the past 7 years and was ranked as the #1 seller across Japan in 2005, 2006 and #2 in 2007. One bottle was sold every 20 seconds in Japan o__o insane isn't it? My sister bought this in Hong Kong.
What does it promise?
It removes dead skin cells gently and effectively to help in skin renewal for softer, smoother and brighter skin. A basic skincare must-have to prevent skin problems such as enlarged pores, blackheads, pimples, blemishes and dull skin tone. This sounds great, isn´t it ^o^?! I'm just super excited after I used this.

Packaging
There is a pump at the top of the bottle where the gel comes out. The bottle also comes with a small cap to prevent the product from spilling. The product is quite watery and it does have a bit of a scent, but I can't really tell what kind of scent it is though. However, it smells ok to me :).

Price and where to buy
If you're in Asia you can buy this product at Watsons. People who aren't in Asia can buy this at Yesstyle for €35.- which is freaking expensive. However this website - Beautycarousel is selling it as well for S$42.00 (Singapore dollars), which is around €24.- for 250g, which is less expensive and it also comes with free samples. So I recommend it to buy it there ;).

How does it work?
Source: http://www.japalang.sg/cure

How to use
Watch the video below or you can read the text below the video ;)
Wash your face with cleanser and pat your face dry. Pump a small amount of Cure on your fingers and apply it on the desired area. Gently massage in a circular motion for 30 seconds to 1 minute. You will see white particles of dead skin cells coming off which is really GROSS but COOL at the same time xD lol see picture below. Rinse well with lukewarm water and you're done :). Move on with your daily routine. This product can be used 2 times a week and can also be used on other parts of the body like on your elbow, neck or knee.

So I've tried it on my cheek and this is the result:

EWWWW... can you see my dead skin cells that came off my cheek - yes those white stuff >.<" !!! Grossss isn't it xD but it's so fascinating to see it lol.

Ingredients

90.66% is Water, 5% glycerin, crosspolymer, dicocodimonium chloride, steartrimonium bromide, less than 1% of aloe barbadensis leaf extract, less than 1% of ginkgo biloba extract, less than 1% of rosmarinus officinalis (rosemary) leaf extract, less than 1% of butylene glycol. It contains no fragrance, no alcohol, no artificial preservatives or colouring. Suitable for all skin types, even sensitive skin!

My opinion
Repurchase? BIG BIG BIG YES!
This is one of the BEST PRODUCTS I've ever used! It's just fascinating to see the dead skin cells coming off, you can really see that this product is working! After washing it off you will also feel that your skin is very soft and not dry. Yes it's a bit expensive but it's a very large bottle and it's totally worth it. I really don't have anything negative to say about this product anymore, it's just amazing ^____^! LOVE LOVE LOVE!

How To Use The Konad Stamping Nail Art Kit

In this blogpost I'm going to use the Essence nail art stampy set. This stampy set comes with 1 stamping plate with 7 designs, 1 stamp and 1 scraper. The price for this set is 3.-. You can also buy a kit at the Born Pretty Store which comes with a plate as well for less than $3.88 and free shipping.
However I'm not going to use the stamping plate which is in the Essence stampy set today.  I'm going to use the Hello Kitty stamping plate which I got for free at Born Pretty Store. Have you girls receive it yet?
What else do you need before you start? cotton pads, nail polish remover, large piece of paper and nail polishes. You have to put a piece of paper or a large sheet under your stamping plate cause it's going to get ( ゚Д゚) dirty! Btw. I recommend a thick nail polish with a good coverage, cause you won't see much with a sheer nail polish =/. Make sure that you removed the plastic cover on the stamping plate. Ok ready?!

Step 1: Choose a design, I chose the Hello kitty design of the stamping plate m71.
Step 2: Put some nail polish on the Hello Kitty design, cover it completely. I used the Dear'Lee black nail polish.
Step 3: Use your scraper and scrape off the excess polish, leaving only the nail polish what's in the indentation of the design. Remember: you have to scrape it fast and you can only scrape it once. Don't scrape it again if it didn't work in the first place cause your scraper is dirty - just clean it with nail polish remover and start over again.
Step 4: Use your stamp and press it on the design. You can stamp it straight down onto the design or you can use a rocking motion, pressing the stamp down starting from the right then rocking it to the left. Remember: the time between the scraping and the stamping should be very short, cause the nail polish will dry very quick.
Step 5: Quick check if the whole design is on your stamp.
Step 6: Quickly press the stamp on your nail following the curve of your nail. This has to be fast as well since the nail polish can dry on your stamp.
Step 7: And you're done ^^. Woops, the placement isn't really correct but I'm still a newbie heheh....
I cleaned the plate, stamp and scraper after every use with some nail polish remover and cotton pads. It takes some practice to get the correct timing and placement on your nail. Besides, you have to work very quick on every step cause the nail polish will dry fast.

You can also put two nail polishes on the design, see pictures below. This design is from the same stamping plate (M71) It doesn't look perfect yet xD I need to practice more lar..

Hope this tutorial helped, if you have any questions feel free to drop a comment ^_^~

Swatch: Sephora Colorful Mono Eyeshadows

I bought these two eye shadows a while ago. It was quite hard to find a matte black and a pigmented white eyeshadow. Thankfully I found these at Sephora ^_^.
According to the Sephora website these are highly pigmented, long-lasting, exclusive shadows that reinvent color intensity. Sephora Mono Eyeshadow has the perfect, high-payoff combination of brilliant color, an easy-blending formula and endless versatility that will revolutionize your eye-makeup outlook and deliver show-stopping effects. These eye shadows are available in more than 80 different shades and comes in three finishes: matte, glittering and metallic shimmer. These eyeshados are paraben free.

Price
These are around €10,90 each (0.07 oz).

Color
The white one is called Aspen Summit n°23 (silvery white shimmer) and the black one is called Must Have n°06 (matte black). The white one is one of the most pigmented white shades I've seen.

Swatch
The colour pay-off of both shades are nice ^^. Both shades have a soft texture that is easy to blend. I have oily lids so I always need to apply a primer before applying these. These two eye shadows are medium pigmented.

Pros
- Easy to blend
- Lasts long after you applied primer
- Pigmentation

Cons
- High price

Have you tried Sephora eyeshadows before?

What do you think of Asian monolids?

Hi lovely readers ^_^,
It's time for another question of the week. I'm writing about monolids today. Monolids are eyelids with no crease (see my picture below and I'm not wearing any make up there). Many Asian girls are just born with monolids, including me =( yes i'm adding a sad face to the sentence because I rather would have double eyelids. Monolids are not fun to work with =.=" and it makes me look a bit violent too lol XD.

Many girls with monolids want to have bigger eyes. Doing a surgery is an option. But there are different kinds of tools nowadays to fake double eyelids like eyelid tape, eyelid glue, fake eyelashes and double eyelid fiber. I have tried (one sided) eyelid tape and eyelid glue before and I didn't like it. Everybody can see the eyelid tape which is ugly =.=" and it's true that you can create double eyelids with glue. However, it doesn't feel good on your lids. I do wear fake eyelashes sometimes and that seems to be the best way for me to create double eyelids. Have you tried these tools before?

Some people say that monolids are pretty and we all should be happy with our own eyes, some people think that double eyelids are better looking. What do you think?

So my question to you is:
What do you think of Asian monolids?

TALLY WEiJL Accessories ♥

I got sponsored by the famous clothing store TALLY WEiJL!! A few weeks ago I received an email from TALLY WEiJL and they were so kind to offer me a few items of their spring 2011 collection *jumps around* \^o^/! I was so thrilled about it and I couldn't even believe it at first. I could even go to the nearest TALLY WEiJL store to choose a few products that I wanted. How A-W-E-S-O-M-E is that ^_____^?????

So last week I went to the TALLY WEiJL store in Utrecht with a happy face ^__^ *lalala~*...and I talked to the manager about it which was informed about this in advance. I think that it was the first time that something like this happened at the store cause all employees started to ask me many questions about my blog out of curiosity. I'm happy that the employees there were kind and helpful though :). Anyways.... so what did I get? I chose two cute accessories of their spring collection:
Can you still remember my previous post about their spring 2011 collection? : http://www.memorable-days.net/2011/01/tally-weijl-spring-collection-2011.html. YER YER YER! I chose the brown vintage bag! This bag is worth €25.95 ~ Well, what do you think about it :) ?
A few close ups of the bag: Once you open the bag you will see a stripe pattern - blue, dark brown and light brown stripes.
I also chose a vintage mirror necklace which has a pink ribbon on it. Price: €5.95.
I really like this spring collection and I'm happy with the products cause they are of good quality and it's easy to match with my outfits ^__^. I will have a blogpost about my Outfit Of The Day  with this vintage bag soon~ Visit the TALLY WEiJL website to check out their spring 2011 collection and "LIKE" their facebook page to get the latest news about their collection. Even though this store is not located in your country you can still join their giveaways on their facebook page! They usually ship the prizes worldwide so "LIKE" their fb page if you haven't ♥.
These two products are sponsored by the company – read the disclaimer page for more information.

Review: MAC Paint Pot Painterly

I received a MAC Paint Pot a week ago which was send by Mitchin. Thank you so much for this product Mitchin ^_^! I had never used a paint pot before, but I had read lots of good reviews about it :) and it's time for me to try this product out. I'm using the paint pot for almost 2 weeks now and I have to say that I'm quite satisfied with it.
What is it?
On the MAC website it says that it's a highly pigmented eye colour that goes on creamy but dries to an intense, vibrant finish. Long-wearing, colourfast. Creates seamless coverage without weight or caking. Blends smoothly over the lids. Cream-based, can be mixed with M·A·C shadows and liners.
Source text: www.maccosmetics.com

What can you do with it?

You can use it as an eyeshadow base (a primer) or you can use it to even out your eyelid color. I'm using it as an eyeshadow base :).

Price
One paint post cost €18,50, which is quite expensive. I think that you can use it at least 8 months if you apply it every day, you don't need much when applying. This comes in many shades and it´s sold in all MAC stores.

Packaging
I like the simple packaging of MAC which is black and white. The cap is black and the cream is in a small glass pot. This product can dry out so you always have to put the cap back on or turn the bottle over on a surface to prevent it from air exposure.

Texture
It is creamy, matte but also a bit sticky. I usually apply it with my ring finger.

Amount
5 g / 0.17 fl oz

Color
The color of this paint pot is painterly, which is a nude beige color- its quite pale as you can see on my ring finger. It looks a bit orange on my hand but it matches the color of my eyelids xD. (My hands are a bit more pale than my face.)

With and without paint pot
This is a swatch of an eyeshadow with and without the MAC paint pot base. The one with the paint pot comes out more intense. It doesn't matter anymore if your eye shadows aren't pigmented enough ^^, just apply this as your base and the color will be more visible. (It doesn't matter which eyeshadow brand you use.)
Pros:
- Easy to apply
- Makes blending more easily
- Makes the eye shadow more vibrant
- Even works with cheap eye shadows
- Easy to remove with makeup remover
- Dries fast
- Lasts quite long even on my oily eyelids.

Cons:
- High price
- Not very hygienic to apply it with your finger all the time, I know that there is a special MAC brush for this, but I actually think that it will stick on the brush =S

Recommended? Yes!

Review: Montagne Jeunesse Skin Polisher Mask

Last time I tried the sauna masque of Montagne Jeunesse and I wasn't really positive about it. This time I will try the skin polisher mask - Cream & Honey. This mask is for people with a normal, dry and t-zone skin. It's moisturizing with cocoa and shea butter.
Skin polisher mask
Gentle cleansing with our unique cream & honey skin polisher. Tiny jojoba beads quickly unplug pores and remove impurities. Nourishing cream, honey, cocoa and shea butter gently refreshes the complexion.

Price
The mask is around €1,80.

Scent and texture
Once you open the lid of the mask you will smell the scent of honey. It's a thick cream mask which absorbs in the skin. You can clearly see the texture of the mask on the picture below. (It looks like a scrub)

How to use?
Use on a clean washed face, leave your skin wet and apply the mask on the face and neck with wet fingertips. Carefully massage it over the face and neck for 1-3 minutes avoiding delicate eye and lip areas. After scrubbing it, it was stinging a bit at the beginning, but I just left it on. Leave it on for 10-15 minutes and you will see that the mask absorbs in the skin. Rinse it well & pat dry when it's time. This mask can be used daily.

My opinion
After washing my face, my skin felt soft, clean and my skin didn't feel dry. Besides, it did unclog my pores which is a plus :). I dislike it that the mask was stinging a bit at the beginning. It made me worried o_o" (while it's an anti-stress mask lol) but my skin wasn't red after washing it off and I didn't have a breakout after wards.

My rate: ♥♥♥♥♥ 3.8/5

Happy Valentine's day / Single awareness day ♥

Short post today ^^', since it's Valentine's day I don't think that many people would read this post =P lol What's the meaning of this day anyway? Don't you think that this day has become way too commercial? Shouldn't you show that person how much you love him/her every day? Anyways, I know that it's still fun to celebrate this day with your love ^_^ so to all the love birds ~ Happy Valentine's Day ♥! What did you plan for today =) ?
Source: picture found at flickr.com
Do you know what kind of day it is for people who are single? Lets search it up at the best dictionary  ever =p I love Urban dictionary hahaah!

Happy Single Awareness Day: otherwise known as Valentine's Day, when people celebrate their love for each other. Occurring on the 14th of February, this day reminds those who do not have a Valentine of their singleness. Contrary to popular belief, this holiday celebrates not only romantic love, but also love between family and friends. Please remember your single friends on Valentine's Day! (you assholes.) No I'm not the one who added "you assholes" at the last sentence xD lol.
Source: urbandictionary.com

So Happy Single Awareness Day to all the singles out there. Just celebrate this day with your family and/or friends ;) Don't go outside and don't watch tv and just pretend it's a normal day ^__^~

Konapun - is it edible?

Konapun is a popular toy in Japan where you go through all the cooking steps to make small replica food items. Most of them aren't edible. With each toy set you can make different kinds of food like cakes, chicken nuggets, sushi etc. The kit comes with the ingredients and tools like tiny mixing bowls, a freezer, a stove, an oven and spoons. This was already sold in the market since 2006 till 2009. It seems that it's out of the market already. However, you can still buy it on ebay :).
Picture found through google search

I've seen these toy sets in Shanghai before where they sell Japanese products, but I never bought it. Such a pity cause when I'm looking at these videos I really want to make it as well ='D! Kona means powder and the main ingredient is powdered sodium alginate which is a fiber contained in seaweed. The fake food will rotten after a while. See RRCherrypie' videos below, it's just awesome to watch these videos and it's so cute, makes me think of cooking mama haha!! Look at those fish eggs o_o"! It says that the sushi's are edible - it's grape flavored jello, gummy candy and soft candy.

What do you think of Konapun? Would you buy it ^__^?

Swatch: Maybelline Angelfit Brighten Up Blush

Yesterday I received a package from Kathi of Lotus Palace, check her blog out if you haven't ^_^. In the package were the products that I won from her giveaway ^_^! I received it within 10 days, which is very fast, thank you Kathi !!! I have won a small notebook, a pencil, some stickers and a Maybelline Angelfit Brighten Up Blush ♥.
The packaging is so cuteee, there are strawberries on it, look at that clothespin - KAWAII NE ^__^!!
This is the Maybelline Angelfit Brighten Up Blush. It's from their Asia-exclusive line: Angelfit, which means that it isn't sold in Europe. The blush is only €4.70, which isn't expensive at all! You can buy it at sasa.com
The blush comes in a plastic case with a cheek brush and the color of the blush is - wooden rose. The cheek brush is so-so, it's not really soft and it's of cheap quality. I would rather use my own blush brush :).
The colour goes on lovely and smooth and its sheerly pigmented. I like the color ^^ it has a natural pink/beige shade and a very slight shimmer which is not very obvious on the skin.
Overall, it's a good blush and especially for that price!
