Review: Bourjois 1 Second Magic Nail Polish Remover

OH MY, This nail polish remover sure is one of my holy grail products! This isn't a new product, it has been in the market for a while, so i'm sure a lot of you have seen this remover on other blogs before. I really don't know why i didn't write a review about this before lol. Sephora has one as well and this one is similar to it, but since Sephora is leaving the Dutch market, I decided to write a review about this one - the Bourjois 1 Second Magic Nail Polish Remover.

Nail art brushes

I bought a set of nail art brushes a month ago. I think that many people already have this set since it's not something new anymore. There are 15 brushes in one set, some brushes are orange, some are white and some are brown.

Price
I bought this set on Ebay for $1,69 with free shipping. Not expensive at all for 15 brushes, so it's definitely worth to buy. Unfortunately the seller from whom I bought it from doesn't sell it anymore. However, I'm sure that there are other sellers on Ebay who sells it for the same price.

Packaging
It comes in a nice & simple packaging which is made of plastic. The packaging keeps the brushes together.

Quality
The quality of the brushes are so-so. The softness is ok and the hair won't come off easily while using or cleaning it. However, the brushes aren't easy to use at the beginning, you do need to practice. Even a straight line can be difficult at start, but it's easy once you get the hang of it. Besides, these brushes are quite hard to clean, the color of the nail polish will still remain a little bit on the hair. I will make a tutorial about how you can clean nail art brushes on a good way later.. so stay tuned ;).

Square Rhinestones For Nail Art

We all have seen the round rhinestones for nail art before right? I often read magazines like Nail up to get some nail art inspiration. I have seen lots of nail art designs with square rhinestones lately and it looked pretty so I bought it as well :D. I actually like these rhinestones more than the round ones.

There are 1800 square rhinestones in this wheel and 12 different kinds of colors as you can see below.

Price
I bought these on Ebay for $2,49 with free shipping at seller Art-La-Lic. I was very satisfied with the service of this seller. The shipping was quite fast, it took around 10 days to arrive at my place.

Size
The size of the rhinestones is 2mm.

Style
There are different ways to put it on your nails which is the fun part of square rhinestones. I'm going to show you a few below. Which style is your favorite out of these 8 ^o^~?

How to make nail polish dry faster?

How to make nail polish dry faster? It usually depends on how many layers you apply or how thick you apply the nail polish. The thinner the coats the faster it will dry! We can use different ways to make the nail polish dry faster. Here are some examples: You can use quick-dry polish as your main coat and a fast-drying top coat. You can dry your nail polish with a blow dryer. Set your hair dryer to the coolest setting and blow dry it for 2 minutes. It's also possible to dip your nails in cold water for about 40 seconds to make the nail polish dry faster. The cold temperature helps harden the nail polish. I recently bought a nail dryer which works as well.

Budget tip: Glass Nail File from Ebay

I recently bought a glass nail file on Ebay. I know that you can buy nail files at every drugstore, but I just wanted to try one on Ebay since it's inexpensive ^__^. It comes in many colors and I received a yellow one from the seller. I've tried many different kinds of nail files before, like nail files made of emery paper, ceramic, metal et cetera, but we all know that glass nail files are the best for our nails.

Glass nail file advantages
One of the top advantages associated with this product is the life span in which it can be used. You can use it over and over again and it can be easily cleaned and washed. It's suitable for natural and acrylic nails. Nail files made of steel typically cause the nail to chip or to crack because they are too rough on the nail. Glass nail files, on the other hand, help reduce the amount of chipping, splitting and peeling! Also, it won't become worn down that easily like emery board and metal nail files and it creates and leaves a soft and smooth finish.

ETUDE HOUSE - Code B Nail Art Pen #4 Black

Nail art lovers might heard of this pen. It's the Code B nail art pen of the brand Etude House. Don't ask me why it's called Code B cause I don't know the answer either. I've always wanted to have a nail art pen because it would be great for designs.

Price and where to buy?
I bought it for $1.85 on Ebay at RubyRubyShop. It's a great deal since it normally cost $4.

Texture & Color
There are 4 colors: #1 white, #2 pink, #3 red and #4 black. I bought #4 black and it's medium thick but does dry pretty quickly.

If you squeeze too hard, it will look like that (see picture below). Therefore you really need to practice!

Control
It's quite hard to control this pen at the beginning, since the nail polish will come out itself. This means that you need to be quick and have a certain amount of control. You will notice that you can squeeze the pen (at the black area) to get more nail polish out. Lol, the first time I used this, I was like OMG OMG the nail polish is coming out itself, I can't control it !! ARGHHH! So yeah... it's quite hard at the beginning, but you just need to practice ;). I always have a piece of paper next to me to wipe the excess. If you're not using the pen you really need to put the cap back on!

My creation & opinion
Lol, remember my old Dolly wink inspired nail art that I did a while ago? I did another one today and I did this within 10 minutes, so its not that pretty. I just wanted to try this pen out xD, so don't post any hate comments cause I know that it's not pretty hahaha.

It's very easy to draw things with this pen, especially dots. I did have some problems with drawing straight lines (as you can see, it's not that straight haha) ^^! The nail art on my middle finger is ok I think :). I sure will do another dolly wink inspired nail art tutorial with this pen ^___^.

Overall, this nail art tool is ok, you just need to practice with it. The negative thing about this pen is that the nail polish will come out itself =/ which makes it hard to control it. However, I wouldn't buy this for $4 haha, $1.85 is a great price :P.

Panda nail art with nail art dotting pens ♥

Yayyy~!! I finally bought a set of nail art dotting pens!! I normally use the pink dotting pen from Essence, but I wanted to have more dotting pens with different sizes so I bought these on Ebay for $1,69 with free shipping ;). It took around 17 days till I got it. It's a pretty good deal right? A set comes with 5 dotting pens and you will have two different ends on each pen.

I've put a dot with the pens on a piece of paper to see how large the dots are. As you can see there is not a difference between the green and the blue one .____. blehhh, such a pity...

These are the other ends of the pens, they are all the same. It would be better if they were all different >.<".

These pens are working fine though =). They are of good quality, not easy to break and it's inexpensive as well, so it's recommended ;)! I was super excited to use these so I did a quick panda nail art ^o^!!! But I failedddddd~~~~! As you can see on the picture, the panda ears are too long and it looks a bit like a dog now =p but I did this within a few minutes so I think I did an ok job lar.. hahaha XD. For this, I've only used the green dotting pen and Dear'Lee white and black nail polish. I'm definitely going to use these pens more often for my nail art tutorials ^___^!
