Review: Etude House - Zero Sebum Matte Gel & Drying Powder

A while ago I mentioned about the zero sebum line from Etude House. I really wanted to try some products of this line since I often have an oily T-zone during the day which is extremely not flattering looking. I have been testing the Etude House all day matte gel and drying powder for a good 4 months and I can finally share my thoughts about it with you. Keep on reading!

.
ETUDE HOUSE ZERO SEBUM ALL DAY MATTE GEL
This gel contains natural grain powder that removes sebum oil to deliver powdery and oil-free skin all day. It also removes first signs of sebum oil with its gentle silicon-free formula, at least that's what they claim.

PACKAGING
It has a cute white, green and yellow packaging. It has English as well as Korean descriptions on it. It comes in a squeeze tube so it's easy to get the product out. It contains 65ml of product.

.
INGREDIENTS
Water, Alcohol, Methylpropanediol, Propanediol, Betaine, Sodium Polyacrylate, Pentylene Glycol, Peg/Ppg-17/6 Copolymer, Piper Methysticum Leaf/Root/Stem Extract, Portulaca Oleracea Extract, Pueraria Thunbergiana Root Extract, Glycyrrhiza Glabra (Licorice) Root Extract, Paeonia Lactiflora Root Extract, Cnidium Officinale Root Extract, Origanum Vulgare Leaf Extract, Chamaecyparis Obtusa Leaf Extract, Salix Alba (Willow) Bark Extract, Ulmus Davidiana Root Extract, Lactobacillus/Soybean Ferment Extract, Cinnamomum Cassia Bark Extract, Amaranthus Caudatus Seed Extract, Scutellaria Baicalensis Root Extract, Gossypium Herbaceum (Cotton) Extract, Soluble Collagen, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice, Hydrogenated Lecithin, Citrus Aurantium Bergamia (Bergamot) Fruit Oil, Citrus Limon (Lemon) Peel Oil, Eucalyptus Globulus Leaf Oil, Pinus Sylvestris Leaf Oil, Citrus Aurantifolia (Lime) Oil, Citrus Aurantium Dulcis (Orange) Peel Oil, Sodium Hyaluronate, Butylene Glycol, Ammonium Acryloyldimethyltaurate/Vp Copolymer, Ethylhexylglycerin, 1,2-Hexanediol, Disodium Edta, Methyl Methacrylate Crosspolymer, Hydroxypropyl Starch Phosphate, Xanthan Gum, Plankton Extract, Phenoxyethanol

HOW TO USE
Apply a layer of this matte gel after applying essence in the morning and evening, dispense a certain amount and gently spread from inner to the outer areas of the face. Or you can just apply onto certain areas only where you produce more sebum oil like the T-zone. You can use this as your moisturizer.

SCENT & CONSISTENCY
As you can see it's a soft translucent gel and it has a silicon feel to it once applied, but once again it doesn't contain silicon, so I think it is because of the natural grain powder. It's easy to spread, it's lightweight and dries quickly. It has a fresh perfume scent to it which isn't overwhelming and you're not able to smell it once applied. It's slightly sticky when you apply it but when it's fully dry it leaves a bright finish, which means this gel doesn't leave a matte finish which is a pity.

.
FINAL THOUGHTS
It has a cute packaging and it's easy to use. However, unfortunately this product didn't work for me at all. It didn't leave a matte finish, it didn't keep me oil-free the entire day, not even for a few minutes to be honest. It works fine as a moisturizer but not as a sebum control product. It doesn't do what it claims,  which is very disappointing.

.
ETUDE HOUSE ZERO SEBUM DRYING POWDER
Another product that I was curious about within this zero sebum line is this drying powder. This definitely made me think of the Innisfree No Sebum Mineral Powder and I was curious how this product was compared to the Innisfree one. It's made of mineral powder (80%) to control sebum. There is no talc, mineral oil, animal ingredient, artificial pigment, or aritificial scent inside.

PACKAGING
Same as the zero sebum matte gel it has a green, yellow and white packaging, with English as well as Korean descriptions on it. It contains 6g / 0.21 oz. It comes with a green soft puff, but I normally use a brush instead since I think it's easier to apply it.

HOW TO USE
After applying skincare or makeup, lightly dab onto sebum concentrated areas using the puff or a brush.

SCENT & CONSISTENCY
The scent & consistency is basically the same as the Innisfree No Sebum Mineral Powder. The powder is white and once applied, your skin will feel silky soft (like baby cheeks) and very matte which I love. It doesn't leave a white cast at all and I'm only using it to set my make up and to keep my skin matte. It  smells like baby powder which is pleasant.

.
FINAL THOUGHTS
My combination dry skin loves this. It feels like this drying powder is exactly the same as the Innisfree one. It feels light on the face, it feels silky soft on the skin after application, it won't leave a white cast, it blurs my pores a bit and it keeps my skin matte for 4/5 hours at least. What's not to love about this  product? I would definitely repurchase this one!

WHERE TO BUY?
You are able to buy the zero sebum matte gel and drying powder at www.Jolse.com, both for an affordable price. They ship worldwide!
