Review: Shu Uemura Porefinist Cleansing Oil + Giveaway

Who is using a cleansing oil in their cleansing routine? Today I'm reviewing one of the well-known cleansing oils from Shu Uemura. It's called The Porefinist Anti-Shine Fresh Cleansing Oil. Want to know my opinion about this cleansing oil? Keep on reading! I'm also hosting a giveaway today in collaboration with Shopjbp.com, stay tuned!

.
DESCRIPTION
An incredibly lightweight cleansing oil from Shu Uemura that leaves the skin clean, fresh and refined. The water-like cleansing oil goes beyond make-up removal to dissolve and wash away excess sebum and blackheads that are stuck inside pores. No pulled or parched. The new formula, with cinnamon bark extract, regulates sebum secretion day after day. Shine is blotted and open pores appear shrunken. Blackheads are removed to reveal a refined, smooth skin. Ideal for normal to oily skin types and acne-prone skin. Check out the video below. - Selfridges

WHERE TO BUY?
This was send to me by Shopjbp.com for review purposes (link to product). They are selling it for ¥4000 for a 150ml bottle which is around €29.-. It also comes in a large 450ml bottle which is around €67.-.

Shopjbp stands for Shop Japanese Beauty Products, it's an online store in Japan where you can find skincare products of well-known Japanese brands like Shiseido, SKII, FANCL and Shu Uemura. If you are interested, check out their assortment on their website.

Of course, you can also purchase the product at Selfridges.com, Houseoffraser.com and at all Shu Uemura counters in Europe as well as in Asia.
.
PACKAGING
It comes in a simple white/pink packaging with English, Chinese, Korean as well as Japanese descriptions on it. (lots of languages, which is a plus!) The bottle is pink (super sweet looking!) is of hard plastic and has an useful pump.

.
INGREDIENTS
• Cinnamon bark extract: targets excess oil, the botanical-origin ingredient is known to regulate sebum secretion.
• Sakura Leaf Extract: known to reduce inflammatory mediators that can cause skin redness. It also helps to improve skin texture.
• Cherry Extract: it contains natural AHA te remove dead skin cells, bringing smoothness to the skin and a refined complexion.

.
SCENT
This cleansing oil has a very fresh scent. It has fresh notes of wild thyme and citrusy sundrenched mimosa, followed by hints of high alphine lavender before finishing with soft white musk and orange blossom.

TEXTURE
The oil is runny like water and feels extremely lightweight. This cleansing oil feels non-greasy and non-sticky on the skin.

HOW TO USE
I normally just use 2-3 pumps for my whole face.

LETS TEST IT OUT
I've put BB Cream, waterproof eyeliner and lipstick on my wrist area.

I've put some cleansing oil on my wrist area and made the area clean with my dry hands. The BB Cream and lipstick are totally gone (this only took a second), but you can still see the waterproof eyeliner there. I've added some water and made some circular motions again to clean it. It turned milky.

I gotta say that it took a little bit longer to remove the waterproof eyeliner, but it did come off. I would recommend to remove waterproof makeup first with cleansing oil which is especially made for waterproof make up and use this Shu Uemura oil to clean the rest of your face if you are impatient like me.

CLEANSES WHITE/BLACKHEADS?
Does this really remove your white- & blackheads? It actually really did! My pores look less visible and I have less white and blackheads. This didn't happen after one wash, I saw improvements after using it for a while.

ANTI-SHINE?
My face looks matte after cleansing but my skin doesn't look less shiny during the day. The amount of sebum that my T-zone produces hasn't decreased I think =(. I have a combination dry skin btw.

PROS
• feels very lightweight and gentle on the skin
• feels and smells fresh
• pores look less visible
• cleanses white/blackheads
• feels non-greasy and non-sticky on the skin
• face feels moist afterwards
• didn't break me out

CONS
• takes longer to remove waterproof make up
• high price
• skin doesn't look less shiny during the day

FINAL THOUGHTS
I've been using this cleansing oil for 3 weeks, I only use it at night and I like it. I normally use eye makeup remover to remove my waterproof make up first and use the Shu Uemura cleansing oil for the rest of my face. There is no need to use another cleanser, but since I use heavy make up sometimes, I do use my Hadalabo face wash afterwards to make sure everything is gone. This combination has been working so well on my face! I'm amazed that this cleansing oil really helped with the appearance of my pores and that the white/blackheads are lessen.
