Review: Ginvera Green Tea Whitening Marvel Gel

I recently got contacted by http://www.janiro.co.uk to review some products of the brand Ginvera. Some of you might have heard of this brand before since it was quite popular in Singapore last year. I bought a sample at TheSampleStore before but it was all dried up when I opened it, see blogpost. Therefore I'm very happy that I'm able to try some products of this brand now. Today I'm going to review of of their popular products which is the Ginvera Green Tea Whitening Marvel Gel. Thank you Janiro for giving me the chance to try it out ^^. Lets look at the review shall we..

Description
The Ginvera Green Tea Marvel Gel works by specifically targeting the cornified skin layer, dissolving and removing the dead skin cells on your top skin layer. This gentle yet effective exfoliating action zeros out bleakheads thoroughly. It will prevent pimples and controls oil which helps you to stay shine free for the whole day.

Price & Where to buy?
This product can be bought at http://www.janiro.co.uk and people in Europe can buy it as well ^^! There is 60ml in one tube and it cost £18.00. I think a tube will last for at least 3 months, depending on how often you use it.

What does it claims?

Packaging
It has a green packaging with English and Chinese descriptions. The whole collection is green because Green Tea extract is the main ingredient. You just need to twist the cap and squeeze the tube to get the product out. It has a great packaging. The product also won't get stuck on the cap which is a plus!

Structure and Scent
It's a light green gel as stated in the product name. It's easy to spread and it smells a bit like green tea. It has a pleasant scent which is not overwhelming.

How to use
Before cleansing, squeeze an adequate amount and apply onto dry face and neck, focusing more on the T-zone area. Gently massage in circular motions until small flakes appear which is the dead skin cells and dirt from the skin. The product dries fast, so after massaging, wet your fingers and gently massage again and wash off with water afterwards. Since it's an exfoliator I recommend to use this 1-2 times a week.
Pros
- Removes dead skin cells
- Pleasant scent
- Great packaging
- Gentle exfoliator
- Removes whiteheads
- My face is a bit less oily than regular
- Skin feels soft, fresh, clean and smooth afterwards

Cons
- Price is quite high for a 60ml tube
- Can only be purchased online
- Didn't remove my blackheads
- Didn't notice any whitening nor brightening effects

My opinion - Does it really work? Does it do what it claims?
I've been testing this product out for a month and this product really makes me think of the Cure Natural Aqua Gel which has similar effects, like removing dead skin cells and whiteheads. What I liked about the Ginvera green tea marvel gel is the fresh, clean, smooth and soft skin that I get afterwards. It's a cool experience, the amount of dead skin cells that is coming off surprises me every time I use it. I'm happy that my skin won't feel dry after using this. This product is approved for people with combination-dry to dry skin ^__^. Also, what surprised me was that it made my t-zone less oily than normal. The downsides of this product are that it doesn't remove blackheads and I didn't notice any instant whitening nor brightening effects (Maybe you will notice this after using it for a longer period?). Anyways, eventhough it didn't remove my blackheads, I would still recommend it because of the many pros that this product has. It's a very gentle exfoliator and fun to use!
