Review: Montagne Jeunesse Sauna masque

I've tried a few masks from Montagne Jeunesse already and I was really curious about this one cause I had never tried a self heating sauna mask before. This mask is for normal, oily (t-zone) skin.

Sauna masque
Cleanse to the core with rich red clay & plant extracts; feel the heat help open pores allowing impurities to be drawn out, clearing excess oils without the mask drying, so your skin is left smooth & deep pore clean. You can only use this mask once.

Price: The mask is around €1,80. I bought it for €1.-, since it was on sale at a Dutch drugstore.

How to use?
Thoroughly cleanse your face with warm water only and leave it wet. Apply the mask evenly to face and neck, avoiding eyes & lips. Leave it on for 5 minutes to experience the immediate warming effect and let the aromatherapy oils relax and d-stress you. Rinse it with water after those 5 minutes and pat your face dry. Use twice weekly.

Scent and texture
I don't like the scent of the mask it smells a bit chemical =/. On the packaging it says that it's clay but the texture is very creamy/watery and it is very thin. You can see that it's almost dripping off my brush and it really was dripping off my face during the 5 minutes when I had the mask on x_x".
Amount
There is only 15g, 0.5 oz in this packaging and I only had a THIN layer on my face >.<" usually there is plenty of mask in it.. Such a pity =/.

Packaging and color
I had to tear the packaging open and squeeze the mask out. I didn't like the packaging of this mask cause it was dripping, I made such a mess in the bathroom because of this =.=". The color of the mask is pink while it says that it's a red mask on the packaging hmmm o__O'.

Ingredients
Propylene glycol, Zeolite, Kaolin, Glycerin, Citrus grandis (Grapefruit) peel oil, Panax ginseng root extract, Cereus grandiflorus (Cactus) flower extract, Oenothera biennis (Evening Primrose) flower extract, Jasminum officinale (Jasmine) flower extract, Citrus aurantifolia (Lime) peel extract, Juglans nigra (Black Walnut) shell extract, Cetyl hydroxyethylcellulose, Parfum (fragrance), Caprylic/capric triglyceride, Isopropyl myristate, Limonene, CI 16035 (Red 40 Lake)

My opinion
Repurchase? NO!
When I applied it, I directly felt the self heating effect, it was warm o_o" but quite relaxing though~ I only had to apply it on for 5 minutes, which was very short, you can't really relax in 5 minutes right? Besides, the mask was dripping off my face =/, the texture was way too thin, it had a chemical scent and there isn't much in one packaging. It's not worth the money. My skin did feel soft after I rinsed my face, but it didn't clean my pores =.=".

My rate: ♥♥♥ 0.5/5 (Only because of the self heating effect)

  5. :O It was DRIPPING?! The mask you gave me was like a muddy texture like how it is supposed to be. It had a strong asian minty smell to it. LOL I don't know how to explain it. It took me forever to take it off. I even scared my brother with the mask on LOLOL

    Hope you like it :)

  7. Reply to Michelle and Tasjs,

@michelle, that mask which I gave you has a lavender scent, I haven't tried that one yet, so I don't know how that one is xD lol.. did you like it or did it suck? hahahah I always scare my dad with a mask on in the middle of the night lol so much fun =p

  8. Sorry to hear it didn't work for you... I've seen this brand in number of countries and places but never used it and this self heating one seems really tempting but after reaing your blog it doesn't seem that tempting at all... But luckily it was cheap... Love the fact that it is self heating but not so much about the drippy part :(
    Great review!!
