Review: Innisfree Jeju Sparkling Mineral Collection

As you all know, I love Korean brand Innisfree (이니스프리). When I heard about their new skincare collection Jeju Sparkling Mineral I just had to try some of the items out. Jolse.com was so kind to send these products to me to try. In today's post i'm going to review 3 products of this collection: the Jeju sparkling mineral essence, mineral cream and the mist. All of these products are enriched with sparkling thermal water from the pure Jeju Island to deliver moisture into the skin. Most of the products contain around 70% of thermal water or more. I've been using these products for a month now. If you want to know my experience, make sure to keep on reading!

.
INNISFREE JEJU SPARKLING MINERAL COLLECTION
I have a combination dry skin type, so i'm always searching for products which will keep my skin moist. The products in this line smells fresh and a bit like sprite. I'm loving the blue and white packaging! According to the packaging it's 6-free: no paraben, animal ingredient, miniral oil, color, artificial fragrance and imidazolidinyl urea. They all contain thermal water.

BENEFITS THERMAL WATER
The thermal water is rich in minerals and carbon dioxide which contains healing properties and is exempt from bacteria and pollution. It will nourish the skin and make it soft.

Take a look at the whole collection below. From left to right in the correct order: cleansing mousse > powder > skin (toner) > essence > lotion > cream. The whole assortment is available at jolse.com.

.
INNISFREE JEJU SPARKLING MINERAL ESSENCE
The essence comes in an aerosol can with a pump. I was quite surprised since a lot of their products comes in a plastic packaging. However, the aerosol can is not heavy at all and is very sturdy. The essence is a perfect solution for brightening and improvement of elasticity of the skin. It is sold for 25.000 KWON (USD$23.19).

.
INGREDIENTS
As you can see it says onsen-sui 73.6% which means that there is 73.6% thermal water inside. And alcohol seems to be high on the ingredient list too.

.
STRUCTURE
The structure of this product is very different from what I'm used to. It's actually a structure that I had never seen before. When you get some product out via the pump, it comes out like foam. When you spread the product out, the structure becomes a liquid runny essence. It's slightly sticky after application but it feels fresh on the face, moist and not heavy. However, if you have a wound or pimple on the face, this might sting a bit since the product does contain alcohol.

HOW TO USE
Apply an appropriate amount (1 pump) onto the face and neck, then gently spread it out. The amount of product in the picture below is way too much actually. Those are 2 pumps, but 1 pump is enough to cover the whole face AND neck, so a little goes a long way. I'm using this product day and night.
- usage order: cleanser > toner > essence > lotion > cream

.
FINAL THOUGHTS
This essence has a pretty cool structure which I had never seen before. The packaging is great and just one pump is needed to cover the whole face and neck, which means that this product will last for a long time. There is a 36 months shelf time, which is extremely long. I'm sure I will be able to finish it within that period. After applying this product my skin feels moist and looks brightened. It has a cooling effect too so it will cool you down during the hot days. It takes a minute until it's fully dry, which isn't long I think. After trying this for a month, I noticed that my skin feels less dry and brighter.

The only downside is probably the alcohol in this essence. It stings when you have pimples or wounds on the face, so be careful with that. And the essence is a bit sticky after application, but i'm okay with it since I normally apply the sparkling mineral cream afterwards which doesn't leave a sticky finish. Besides that, it's a pity that you're not able to see how much product you have left in the can.

INNISFREE JEJU SPARKLING MINERAL CREAM
This cream delivers moisture into the skin with a powerful moisture barrier. There is 50ml of product inside. It comes in a hard plastic blue packaging. It is sold for 25.000 KWON (USD$23.19), which has the same price as the essence.

INGREDIENTS

.
STRUCTURE
It is creamy, light and you can spread it out easily. The texture is similar to their green tea seed cream but slightly thicker. I think this cream is very suitable for people with a dry skin. I am currently using this as my night cream. It absorbs into the skin within a few seconds. It's a bit sticky when you apply it, but once it's dry, your skin will feel soft, moist, supple and brightened. It doesn't feel oily nor heavy at all which is a plus.

HOW TO USE
Apply an appropriate amount over the face and neck and gently spread it out. I normally just use a pea size amount, you really don't need much to cover everything. Check out the brightening effect in the picture below.
- Usage order: cleanser > skin (toner) > essence > lotion > cream

.
FINAL THOUGHTS
I like this cream because it absorbs fast, the finish is not sticky, it feels moist on the skin and not oily at all. It has an obvious brightening effect, even more than the essence. I do wish this cream had more benefits, but it just does what it says. After a month I noticed that my skin was more moist and brighter. Out of the 3 products, this one has the most visible brightening effect after application.

INNISFREE JEJU SPARKLING MINERAL MIST
I really needed a face mist - my skin feels a bit dry because of the air conditioner in my office. It's always good to have a mist to keep the skin moisturized, so I decided to give this mineral mist a try. It comes in a plastic packaging which isn't heavy so you can easily carry this around in your bag. It comes in a spray where the product comes out evenly, which is definitely a plus since a lot of face mists that I tried had a bad packaging which won't spray the product out evenly. There is 80ml of product inside, sold for 12.000 KWON (USD$11.11).

.
INGREDIENTS
WOW, 90% thermal water!

.
STRUCTURE
The mist is like water, it's lightweight and it absorbs into the skin within seconds.

HOW TO USE
Whenever your skin feels dry, spray this onto the face with your eyes closed and let it dry. You can use this before or after you've applied make up. However, make sure you have a certain distance between the spray and your face.

Tip: if you normally use a cushion foundation and you feel that your cushion pad feels a bit dry, just spray this on the pad to make it moist and use the same pad to apply the foundation for the cooling effect.

.
FINAL THOUGHTS
This facial mist is perfect for long flights or if you sit in an air conditioned office or when the weather is extremely hot. It brightens the whole complexion within a second, so it's great for people with lack of sleep or when your complexion is dull. It also has a cooling effect which is great during the hot days and it keeps the skin moist for a couple of hours. This mist is more suitable for people with a dry to normal skin type. I have a combination dry skin and I noticed that the oily parts on my face will stay oily after spraying this on, which means my face will be oily and bright as well. That combination doesn't look that great. Therefore, I usually pad away the oily parts off my face and spray this on to get an overall bright complexion. It instantly leaves a healthy glow which I love. Some mists will make your make up stay longer, but this is not the case unfortunately.

DO I RECOMMEND THESE PRODUCTS?
Yes! After trying these products out for a month, I noticed less dry areas and my complexion became brighter. It just does what it says - making the skin moist and bright and this can be seen instantly. If you have a dry to normal skin type, this will be the products for you. Out of the 3 I'm liking the essence the most. The essence has an unique structure and you only need one pump of it to cover your whole face and neck, which means that you won't be needing much. The brightening effect is definitely visible when using these products, especially when using the cream or mist!

WHERE TO BUY?
I got these products from Jolse.com. Their assortment is huge and they always have new products which are just released. The products are sold for a reasonable price too. They offer worldwide free shipping with a minimum purchase of $40. Their assortment is large so I'm sure you are able to reach that amount. The Jeju Sparkling Mineral Essence is sold for USD$23.38 (link to product) there, the cream is sold for USD$23.38 as well (link to product) and the mist is sold for USD$13.48 (link to product).
