It's time for another question of the week. What do you think of companies that are testing their products on animals? Look how cute and fluffy this bunny is >.<"OMG! This is probably someones pet btw xD and not a bunny that is used to test cosmetics.

“Consumers are shocked to learn that millions of animals each year are injected with or forced to inhale or ingest cosmetics. Those animals live in fear and loneliness every minute of their lives,” says Erin Edwards, media liaison for animal-rights organization People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA).

On a lot of products that I'm using it doesn't say if it's tested on animals or not. However, I did some research and found that lots of beauty companies do test on animals, like L'oreal (Garnier, Maybelline, Shu Uemura), Procter & Gamble (Herbal Essences, Hugo Boss), Shiseido Cosmetics and a lot more.. You can see more companies here. A lot of products that I'm using are tested on animals and I didn't even know it >.<".

Lots of people have mixed feelings about this topic. Some people think it's better to test on animals rather than on humans. Some people are completely against it and won't use products that are tested on animals. What do you think about it? Do you feel guilty if you're using a product that is tested on animals?

So my question to you is:

I have tried the purifying neem face wash of the brand Himalaya Herbals for 2 weeks. I think that some of you have tried it as well, since you could get a free sample at "The Garden" (a Dutch store) the last time. Let me know what you think about this product ;).
The purifying neem face wash
A gentle face wash that cleanses your skin by removing excess oil and impurities. Unlike soaps, the Purifying neem face wash doesn't leave the skin dry and feeling stretched. It's a soap-free herbal formulation that gently removes impurities and prevents pimples. It's enriched with Neem and Turmeric. Neem is well known for its antibacterial properties, kills problems causing bacteria. Tumeric effectively controls acne and pimples. You will have a clear, fresh and soft skin after usage. It's for all skin types.

Price
You can buy a tube (150 ml) for €6.63 online at their webshop and people in Holland can get it at The Garden for €4.60 or so. As you can see, it's not that expensive for so much product ;).

Scent & Texture
It's a gel face wash that feels good on the skin and it doesn't foam (some people might not like that). The color of the product is yellow/greenish (cool color! lol.) and it slightly has a herbal scent which I like, it's a pleasant smell ^_^.
How to use
Massage the gel gently over the face, wash it off and pat it dry. Use twice daily.

Does it do what it promise?
Hmmm.. it did clean my skin and I had the feeling that it had positive effects on my pimples. However, it also gave me a tight/stretched & dry feeling after usage =(. I have a combination/dry skin, so I prefer products that moisturizes my face. This product just didn't give me the moisturizing or soft feeling. I recommend this product for people with oily skin, not for a dry skin. 

My opinion
It's overall an ok product for an affordable price. I do think that it prevents pimples and removes impurities. I also liked the light herbal scent and the color of the face wash, but I just didn't like the dry/stretched feeling after usage. It wasn't suitable for my combination/dry skin, so I wouldn't purchase this product in the future.

Don't you think that it's hard to find a simple brown belt now-a-days? I'm loving this belt, since it's of good quality, easy to match and it fits me well :).
Leggings & Tights
I'm wearing leggings EVERY DAY since it's very comfortable and its good looking, so you can guess that I have heaps of leggings at home hihi ^__^! I have lots of black leggings but also colorful ones and I especially like the ones with a print on it. I just had to add the ribbon legging to my collection =p. Tights are fun to wear as well and you can easily match it with clothes. I wanted to buy this polka dot tights for a long long time and I finally got it~! YAYY xD!!

This is quite an old product already. You have probably seen this product before on blogs or in youtube videos. I have even seen a similar product like this at the latest bubzbeauty video ;). I recently purchased this product at Ebay and it's called the Facial cleansing pad also known as a blackhead remover. It also came with a very small round cleansing pad (I don't really know what to do with that, maybe it's for the hard to reach nose area? idk..). The product comes in two different colors: light blue and light pink.
At the description of this product it's said that:
- it's made of soft silicone material,
- this pad cleans the dirt on your face,
- it helps to keep your face smooth
- it improves the blood circulation of your face by brushing lightly.

Price
I bought it only for $0.99 including shipping, very cheap~ from the seller : buyincoins_au. It took around 2 weeks to get here in The Netherlands. The seller didn't include the packaging of the product which is a pity and the cleansing pad was also a little bit bend when I received it =(. However, I told the seller about it and he directly refunded my money back, so yeah.. I can say that it's a good seller ^_^.

How to hold the pad
This is the way you hold the cleansing pad. The product is flexible and it’s really sturdy to work with.

How to use?
I'm using this while I clean my face with a cleanser. I use a circular motion. The pointy corner is great for the hard to reach nose areas.

Does this product work?
It doesn't remove my blackheads, but it does remove my white heads. It's a great tool to massage my face with and it gives me the feeling that my face is cleaner after usage xD. I usually use a washcloth or my fingers to clean my face but I don’t think that my fingers are removing the dirt/make up sufficiently. Therefore, I'm happy that I bought this tool :).

Recommended?
Yes, I recommend this beauty tool ^__^, it's cheap and it's very easy to work with!

I bought two nail polishes of Catrice since they were on sale at a Dutch drugstore =). I love their nail polishes because of the colors and the good quality.
010 Don't feed the birds
I have been searching for a thick yellow nail polish for a while and I finally found one ^_^ which is the 010 Don't feed the birds nail polish. Apparently there are 2 different kinds of 010 Don't feed the birds nail polishes in their assortment. 010 is a yellow nail polish without shimmer, but I also saw that there is one with shimmer and they have the same product name.

110 Poison me, Poison you!
The purple one is called 110 Poison me, Poison you! I love the names of their polishes xD! It's a dark purple nail polish with shimmer. Very pretty ^__^!
Price
Bought these during sale for €1.25 each. Normal price is €2.49 each.

Swatches
Both nail polishes are thick, the purple one looks good with 1 coat and the yellow one needs 2 coats :).

A new Catrice collection will be out soon with NEW Catrice nail polishes so I can't wait !!! I'm definitely going to buy more of these nail polishes =D they are great and not pricey at all!

I received a Sake Yeast mask of My Beauty Diary (我的美麗日記面膜) the other day. I hadn't tried this one yet so I was excited to try it out ^___^! This mask is for people with a normal skin.

This is going to be a long post, but I just GOT to share this website with you guys ^____^! Last year I had read a lot about The Sample Store on dblchin's blog. The Sample Store is an online store in Singapore which sells samples of a lot of products including Asian cosmetics, skincare products and even weight loss cookies lol xD. So you can try the products first before you buy the retail size products which they are selling as well. They only shipped their products in Singapore back then, but they recently changed it and they are shipping their products worldwide now (which I saw on Naomi's blog). I recently purchased a few samples there, so I will talk about my haul and my experience with this awesome website with you girls ^__^.
What's so awesome about this store?
Recently I have been searching for some good BB creams to try, but the best way to do that is to have samples. With samples you will know if it suits your skin tone or not. I saw that you can get samples of BB creams at The Sample Store of the brands Bio Essence, BRTC, Skin food, Lioele, Dr. Jart and more.. So I was very excited when I saw it since I wanted to try those BB creams for a long time now xD!! And they don't only have BB creams, they have sheet masks as well and eye creams from Skin food and Naruko for example. Whoaa, so many products that I still need to try!!!

How does their system work?
You need to make an account on their website: Thesamplestore.sg (registration is for free). You will have 6 points when you register, each sample will cost you 2 points. You are only allowed to order max. 4 samples per time. The samples are free, you only have to pay for the shipping. The shipping costs depends on the weight of the samples that you're choosing. TIP! The package was well packed - the samples were wrapped with bubble wrap.

Remember my fail product of last time: The Garnier caffeine anti dark circle eye roller. I've got another fail product today, which is the Garnier UltraLift Pro-x Double action eye care. I've been using this for a couple of months to try it out.

A few weeks ago I was talking about the water sleeping pack ex of Laneige on twitter. It's a product that I have been dying to try! So Vicky saw my tweets and was very kind to send me a sample jar of the sleeping pack ^___^. Super sweet right? She also send me some extra stuff like a hand cream of L'Occitane and the Sake Yeast mask of My Beauty Diary. Yayyy~!! I finally bought a set of nail art dotting pens!! I normally use the pink dotting pen from Essence, but I wanted to have more dotting pens with different sizes so I bought these on Ebay for $1,69 with free shipping ;). It took around 17 days till I got it. It's a pretty good deal right? A set comes with 5 dotting pens and you will have two different ends on each pen.
I've put a dot with the pens on a piece of paper to see how large the dots are. As you can see there is not a difference between the green and the blue one .____. blehhh, such a pity...
These are the other ends of the pens, they are all the same. It would be better if they were all different >.<".
These pens are working fine though =). They are of good quality, not easy to break and it's inexpensive as well, so it's recommended ;)! I was super excited to use these so I did a quick panda nail art ^o^!!! But I failedddddd~~~~! As you can see on the picture, the panda ears are too long and it looks a bit like a dog now =p but I did this within a few minutes so I think I did an ok job lar.. hahaha XD. For this, I've only used the green dotting pen and Dear'Lee white and black nail polish. I'm definitely going to use these pens more often for my nail art tutorials ^___^!

Y'll know that I'm very addicted to My Beauty Diary masks right ^__^? A few days ago I was reading something on a Chinese website and I saw that My Beauty Diary (我的美麗日記) has a new line which is called: My tea time (甜蜜午茶篇), some Chinese webshops are selling these already.

The weather is a bit gloomy these days in The Netherlands, makes me want to wear black clothing =p. Yes, the weather does have influence on the color of my clothing. Are you like that as well?

Anyways, this is my outfit of today, I call it simple black :).  I also made a very very short video ~ it's my first OOTD video on youtube, didn't really edit it since I was a bit lazy =p haha, but I thought that it was more fun to show my outfit in a video. However, I'm not used to it yet ( as you can see ) ~_~ it felt a bit awkward, so I didn't talk and my movements were a bit stiff hahaha, but ah well.. probably will be better next time :P.

This is a nail polish of Etude house : LUCIDarling Fantastic nails Pink Topaz. Remember my previous post about the LUCIDarling nail polish - Purple Ruby : http://www.memorable-days.net/2011/02/lucidarling-glitter-gradient-nailart.html. I fell in love with it and wanted to have the pink version as well =p.
It has the same packaging as the purple ruby one: heart shape ♥ love it! I thought that it also has stars in it, but there are only small & large glitters in it, no stars =( such a pity.
Price and Where to buy?
I bought it for $4.85 on Ebay with free shipping from seller RubyRubyShop. I got it within 10 days, quite fast since she's shipping it from Korea. It's a trustworthy seller. I actually know this shop from Bubzbeauty xD, she mentioned & recommended it before in one of her videos.

Swatch
This time I used the rhinestones which I got for free the other day. I used 5 rhinestones per finger.

It probably would be prettier if you put rhinestones on every nail, but I only did it on two nails since I need to work today. It's not allowed to put nail polish on my nails where I work, so I need to remove it afterwards =(.

Overall it's a pretty nail polish, but I do like the LUCIDarling - purple ruby one more ;)

Today I'm going to review the Acorn Jelly mask of Skinfood. There was a sample of this product in the surprise package that I received the last time, so I tried it out. 
What does it promise?
It's a mask that effectively tightens oil-clogged enlarged pores and exfoliates the layers of dead skin cells with powdered acorns from Jiri-mountain.

Price
One jar is quite expensive. YESSTYLE is selling it for $30, 100 g jar. The packaging looks cute though ^-^ it makes me think of a honey jar.

Color & Scent
This mask has a firm jelly-like texture. When looking at the color it made me think of honey. I can't really describe the scent =/, it doesn't smell good and it doesn't stink, it's just ok.

How to use
After washing your face, apply an ample amount onto the face and massage it gently. You only have to leave it on your face for 1 minute! When it's time, rinse it off with lukewarm water. YES only 1 minute xD I'm used to put masks on for at least 20 minutes, so 1 minute is really quick, but it's great for people who don't have much patience and/or time.

My opinion

I've tried this product 3 times. (My skin type is combined.) I have an oily T-zone and medium large pores on my nose, so I was excited to try this ^__^ I applied the mask on my T-zone and my chin and rinsed it off after 1 minute. What i liked about this product is that it tightened my pores and it also removed the oil on my skin. However, it made my skin very DRY >.<", so I guess that it wasn't suitable for my skin =/ and I think it's just way too expensive, so I'm happy that I only tried a sample of it xD. I wouldn't purchase the large jar.

This is another product that people on Youtube have been raving about since 2009. Apparently there are different kind of brands for these. Those brands are Epicare and My Spring It. It's a tool that removes your facial hair from the roots. Yeah, i know it looks silly, but it does works. My Spring It was designed for use on the upper lip, chin, cheeks, nose and neck areas, but it should not be used to remove hair from the eyebrows.
Price
This tool is sold for €16,95 in several online shops in The Netherlands. Like what the ... €16,95 for this tool O_O? Are you serious...? I just bought it for a few euros on Ebay which works as well.

What is it?
It's a small spring with handles which are made of plastic. Different colors are available. There is nothing inside the spring, no ingredients, nothing!

How long does this tool lasts?
If maintained properly you should be able to use this tool from 6 months to one year before it needs replaced. You need to clean it by bending it like an inverted "U" and shake off the trapped hair after each use. (You can really see the trapped hair if you stretch the spring.) After that, wipe it with a clean dry cloth or a cloth with a bit of alcohol. It's not waterproof and should be used on dry, clean skin. This tool may cause outbreaks if you don't clean your face well before usage.

How to use
Bend the threader into an inverted "U" shape and rotate the handles in- and outwards. Roll the threader on the area where you wish to remove hair. The hair will be pulled from the roots. You do need to practice first! Watch this Epicare video and you will see that this tool will pull the hair out.


Does it hurts?
I usually use tweezers to remove hair at my upper lip area and I don't think it hurts. It did at the beginning but you will get used to it and it won't hurt anymore if you use tweezers more often. When I used the My Spring It tool for the first time it was hurting as well since the hair will be pulled out from the roots. It hurts even more if your facial hair is long. However, I got used to it after a while and it's not hurting anymore now.

My opinion
This tool does what it says, it's really pulling facial hair out from the roots. However, it won't pull a lot of hair out at the same time, so you need to do the same motion over and over again. I do think that it's a good tool to remove the hair on the cheeks and forehead, but it just takes a long long time to remove all of the hair. I prefer to use tweezers for the upper lip area, since it's more accurate which hair you're removing. Overall, it's an ok and fun tool to work with, especially for a few euros. I would NEVER buy it if I saw this in the store for €16.95! Think about it, €16.95 for a spring o_O" omg! Would you buy this?

Such a crazy morning it was yesterday. I woke up and watched messages on Facebook and Twitter on my phone. My friends and followers were all talking about the tsunami in Japan. I was in shock and turned the tv on as soon as possible and I saw the following video footage - its really heartbreaking. People who didn´t watch the news yesterday you really should watch this:

I'm sorry about the disruption of my usual blog posts, but I think that there are more important things than cosmetics today. I just wanted to post this to let y'll know what happened, since there are many people who don't watch the news every day. Therefore, there won't be a beauty/fashion blogpost today.

A lot of people have been raving about this lip balm since 2009 and some of my followers recommended this product to me, so I decided to buy it and give it a try. Today I will review the Evolution Of Smooth (EOS) Lip Balm - Summer fruit flavor. They have five other flavors which are Sweet mint, Pomegranate Raspberry, Medicated Tangerine, Lemon Drop with SPF 15 and Honeysuckle Honeydew.

The whole Spring Collection 2011 of TALLY WEiJL is out ^o^! Have you seen the new layout of their website already: http://www.tally-weijl.com. I think that their new layout is way better than the previous one, it will at least give you a great overview of their whole collection. Anyways, I was browsing on their website and I saw a few cute items that I wanted to share with you ^^.
