By the end of the year my mom is making some Chinese food to give to friends and family. People in Hong Kong/China will eat this during Chinese New Year (in February). Do you eat this as well? Or do you recognize it?
蘿蔔糕 luo bo gao (Mandarin) | lo pak gou (Cantonese)
The Chinese turnip cake/radish cake. You can order this when you´re going to eat dimsum, Chinese people call it yumcha 飲茶. It´s one of my favorite food :). This is made from mashed daikon radish mixed with dried shrimp and pork sausage that are steamed and then cut into slices and pan-fried.
Only 2 days left and we can say goodbye to 2010! Time went so fast huh =/?! I wanted to make this post a kind of TAG post :) People that I'm tagging have to follow these two rules: Name your ups and downs in 2010 in a blogpost and when you're done you have to tag at least 5 other bloggers.
I'm tagging: Jennifer, Rin, Bibi, Petitechouxx, Mitchin, Winnie,Elle, Mei, Chanel, Sam. For the Dutch people I've tagged, you can do this tag in Dutch if you want to. Continue with reading if you want to read my ups and downs in 2010.
These are my ups in 2010: 1. Memorable Days
This year I started (exact date: 30 March 2010) with Memorable Days: my random-ish blog, where I write about things about my life and things that I like. And I'm so happy that I started with this blog because I've met many sweet bloggers across the world. It became my first hobby that I really enjoy. And I'm surprised that so many of you guys love this blog as well ^_^. ♥ love, love love..
2. My AWESOME time in Shanghai
For people who don't know- I did an internship there for 5 months (From September 2009-February 2010). So I stayed in Shanghai for a half year ^_^. I went to many places in China. I've always wanted to take a trip around China, so it was like a dream that came true lol xD. Besides, I'm happy that my awesome schoolmates were there as well ❤ It wouldn't be fun without you guys =D Ps. Look at my chubby face xD lol !!! I gained so much weight while I was in China. All those yummy food ❤ *nom*nom*nom* irresistible.
3. Graduated
I am so happy that I'm graduated from university. I've worked 4 years for that piece of paper >.<" it wasn't easy and I worked so hard for my thesis!! There were times where I felt like giving up, but I eventually didn't, because a lot of friends were supporting me ♥. I've also met many people in these 4 years, some bitches but many sweeties as well lol xD. Ps. in this picture you can see I lost a lot of weight again.. hahaha =P
4. My baby nephew Loving this little guy who came to this world October 2010 ♥.
My downs in 2010: 1. Changes
I changed in these years and I know that some of my friends have changed as well. Changes can be good and bad. However most of the time it's bad. Quarrels and irritations are increasing between my friends and I *sigh.. don't know what to say more about this, my best buddy's will know what I'm talking about.
2. Starting with my master degree
This was a very BAD BAD decision. After I finished university I started with my master degree. Once I started I had lots of stress o_o"! Going to school wasn't fun anymore, I had to make my homework every day, reading tons of articles and books which are as thick as bibles. Gawd.. it made me so demotivated. I'm even hesitating to stop with school.
Especially during the holidays, you will meet a lot of friends and family and you will also go to parties more often. During this period it's important to keep your skin healthy, so one of the important thing is: keep your face moisturized! I don't want anybody to see my dry skin, that's why I'm putting sheet masks before I go to sleep or in the morning to keep my face moisturized.
Today I've tried the natto sheet mask of My Beauty Diary (我的美麗日記面膜). My sis bought this for me at Watsons while she was in Hong Kong :).
I had a nice Christmas dinner with my family today at my sisters place ^__^! *nom*nom*nom* lobsters... *burb* I'm way too full at the moment. I'm always eating way too much during holidays =P. I seriously need to go to the gym again next year lol. (I'm saying that every year haha)
And of course my baby nephew was there as well ^__^. My sister bought Elmo and Cookiemonster from Sesame street for him. Isn't he CUTEEEEE =D?
Lol, you can see that I'm extremely obsessed with him xD. I'm typing way too much blogposts about him, more than about myself xD w00ps, sorry =X
It's still Christmas here so, I hope y'll enjoying Christmas at the moment ^__^ I've received many E-cards and text messages with Merry Christmas :). Thank you ❤! In these couple of years I've noticed that many people prefer to send E-cards more than normal Christmas cards. Picture found at flickr.com , edited by memorable days.
Jingle bells, Jingle Bells.. Jingle all the way~ Only one day left and it's Christmas already ^_^ time flies don't you think? Christmas is seriously one of my favorite holidays ^__^! I love all the pretty lightings outside and people on the streets seems to be very happy during Christmas... or is it just me? lol Found this picture at flickr.com
What did you wish for Christmas this year? In my family we don't buy Christmas presents anymore since we are all grown ups with a job and can buy things for ourselves :). But we DO celebrate it ^__^, we are all going to eat at home with the whole family. I was in Shanghai last year celebrating Christmas with my friends at a French restaurant. That was nice and fun though, but I'm happy that I can celebrate it with my family again this year ^__^.
The item that I really really want for a long time is a Fujifilm Polaroid camera. My dad used to have one when I was little, but I don't know where it is now (To do list: must search for it!). I really love it! You can just pull out your Polaroid camera, snap pictures and watch as the image slowly appeared in full vivid color o_o" oehh.. It's actually not that expensive, maybe around 150 euros? But it's those films which are making it darn expensive (1 euros per film). Since I can't buy it in Holland, I probably will buy this next year in Hong Kong ♥. (I don't want to buy this on Ebay) Picture found at flickr.com
Flashback: http://memorabledays-x3.blogspot.com/2010/11/meet-my-baby-nephew.html
You should know my nephew by now ^o^! hihih, he's really the cutest baby! He's almost 3 months old now and he's already talking, even though I don't understand him cause it's baby talk; he says things like "ankoeee" and "huh" and "aboee". =p l0l so funny & cute ^o^!!
I haven't done a nail art tutorial for a while ^_^ and it's almost Christmas, so I wanted to have Christmas as the theme. I call it the Christmas party nail art tutorial ;). Just like all of my nail art tutorials, it's easy to follow =D. btw. sorry of the lighting, it's almost different on every picture =.=" it is so hard to take pretty pictures during winter, cause it's often too dark in my house.
This is the scrub that I was writing about in my previous post about Keratosis Pilaris (KP): http://memorabledays-x3.blogspot.com/2010/12/do-you-have-small-red-bumps-on-your.html. I have been using this product for a year now and this made my arms a lot smoother than before =) It's a grapefruit sea salt scrub. There is also a lavender sea salt scrub available of the same brand, but I don't like the scent of lavender so I didn't buy that one.

I went to a drugstore (Kruidvat) yesterday and bought a few stuff. They have great deals this week, for example buy 3 Essence products and get 1 free, buy 1 Catrice product, get 1 free. , buy a Maybelline product and get a free cinema ticket. Normally a cinema ticket in Holland is around 9 euros (expensive right o_o?), and if you're a student it's 7.50. Still expensive ¬¬. Anyways back to my haul... it was so attractive to buy new stuff when I heard those deals hehehe...
I bought 2 Catrice nail polishes. I already have the green one- #240 Sold out forever, but I just wanted to have one extra in my assortment since I really love that color =D. The grey one is #280 London's weather Forecast.
CUTENESS OVERLOAD! All those models in the Popteen magazine are so dolly-like with those eyelashes and circle lenses ❤ super kawaii ^__^!
In this issue you will see clothing from LIZ LISA, the newest Dolly Wink products (mascara, cream eye shadows), Diamond lashes, EYEmazing lashes and photos of models wearing Jewelove circle lenses. I really enjoyed this issue, I wish that I could read Japanese for the tutorials >.<" However, I do prefer Vivi more than Popteen, because of the clothing style. Which magazine do you prefer?

I tried a Beauty Diary sheet mask (我的美麗日記面膜) this week- the Apple Polyphenol mask. My sis bought this for me at a Watsons store while she was in Hong Kong :)
It has been snowing a lot lately in The Netherlands and it's extremely cold, sometimes it's even -8°C here (FREEZING!) Besides it's slippery as well, I have seen so many people fall off their bikes or just when they walk >.<" (NOO, I didn't laugh at them, I'm scared of karma hahah) With this weather I usually don't want to go outside, I just want to relax at home and drink a hot coffee or chocolate milk ♥. However winter can be depressing. *Sigh this weather is making me lazy =(, I even skip class because of the cold xD that's so bad..
Winter can be pretty- snowy picture of Amsterdam :) Hmm.. Will we get a White Christmas this year ^__^?
Vaseline Lip Therapy is now available on a stick in the UK. Easy to put in your pockets or handbag =) Don't you think that it looks the same as Labello?
Anyways, I have been using the pocket size version of Vaseline for many years now. The stick version isn't available in Holland yet, I hope that they will be in the future. However I do think that this packaging is better cuz it's more hygienic :)
I found this photo by searching through google images ;)
Price
One stick costs £1.99 in the UK.
Types
The types doesn't differ from the pocket size version. Blue is original Pink is Rosy and almond oil Green is Aloe Vera Brown is Cocoa Butter
Too bad, they don't have the summer protection version on a stick =( boehoe that's my favorite! It would be great for the summer :)
What are you using to protect your lips :) ?

Look at your arms and see if its similar to these photo's (source of the photo's: emedicine.medscape.com) :
That doesn't look very attractive huh? If your upper arms look similar to the pictures above you might have Keratosis Pilaris. (Kera... what o_O"?) Don't be afraid it's HARMLESS and you're not the only one who has it o.o, cuz I have it as well on my upper arms =/. I always get questions like, hey what are those tiny red dots on your arms? Click on read more below if you want to know more about it.
I only know a few online shops in Holland which are selling Asian clothing and usually their assortment isn't that large. But do you know the online store Yesstyle.com? I've noticed that more and more people like to follow the Asian Fashion trend. That's why I wanted to share this site with you.
One of my favorite brand is 59 Seconds. All clothes of this brand are so cute ^.^ (look at the pictures below) And one big pro is that the clothes are affordable as well =D. Btw. there is 20-50% off at the moment, so go to their website to take a look and order: http://www.yesstyle.com
Besides Asian fashion, Asian beauty products are becoming more and more popular as well. Most of the people who are familiar with this website know that they are selling clothing for women and men, but did you know that they are selling jewelry, asian beauty and skincare products, circle lenses and kids' fashion as well? They have such a large assortment! I didn't know that their assortment was that large o_o"!
Asian Beauty Products
They are selling products of many brands: European brands as well as Asian brands, like Laneíge, My Beauty Diary, Etude House, Gatsby and Shiseido. There is 5%-50% discount on beauty products at the moment. The skincare line of the South-Korean brand Laneíge is the bestseller at Yesstyle. I've never tried products of this brand before, so I'm quite curious if it really is good =D. Click on the banner to see their whole Laneíge assortment:
Laneíge is using pure glacial water flowing from the Himalayas as its key ingredient. Most of their products seems to be very moisturizing. Check out this Chinese commercial:
Have you ever bought anything from Yesstyle before? What did you buy?
A few months ago I bought a pair of circle lenses from Pinkyparadise.com. I really wanted to have grey lenses, so that's why I bought: Geo Nudy Grey. Sorry that I didn't post this earlier, I totally forgot to write a review about this =/ Go to this link for more information about these pair of lenses: pinkyparadise.com. There is 30% off at the moment because of the Christmas and New Year promotion ^_^! Btw. the nail art on the picture below is my Dolly Wink inspired nail art, click here for the tutorial.
Sometimes it's hard to combine clothes during the cold days. So here I'm sharing scans from the Vivi magazine to give you more inspiration :D! Miliyah Kato is on the January 2011 cover ;) She's a Japanese singer in Japan. To be honest hehe, I've never heard of her name... =X
Skip this post if you don't want to see the scans. However, if you do want to see it, just move on ^^ You will also see the download link for this issue :) click on the link below to read more.
I have received many tags and awards lately ^^ A few days ago I got tagged by Naomi and Mei with the I love your blog tag. All you have to do is answer these 10 questions and tag other 10 bloggers with it :) This made me think of the 8 Random Questions Tag. Almost the same right?
Dejavu Fiberwig; Paint-on False Lashes Extra Long - You've probably heard about this product before. Fiberwig is the top selling mascara in Japan. It's from the brand Imju. I was curious if this really worked, I had read many reviews about it. There were many positive reviews but many negative reviews about this product as well, so I didn't know whom to believe. Does it work or not? So I asked my sis if she could buy this for me while she was in Hong Kong and she could easily find it in Sasa stores there ^.^ YAY!
The brush
There are small fibers on the brush as you can see on the picture. When you put this mascara on, the fibers will stick on to your eyelashes and this should create the false lashes effect. "ahum, NOT REALLY!"
Price and Where to buy?
You can order this product at Sasa.com, Ebay and Sephora. It's around USD $15.30 at Sasa.com and around USD $24 at Sephora. It's quite expensive for a mascara, but I heard that it's less expensive on Ebay, so it's better to check it out on Ebay first before you buy it elsewhere.
What does it promise? I will put a check mark (✔) if it does what it promise and a (✘) if it doesn't. [✘] Extra long lash look [✘] Better adherence of fiber to your lashes. [✔]The long brush enables perfect contact to every piece of lash [✔] It won't smudge, it instantly transforms into adhering firm to resist sebum, cold water and sweat. [✔]Convenient removal: It can be easily removed with warm water. No damage to lashes. [✔]It assembles perfectly once you brush it on. [✔] It's a light and smooth mascara and it doesn't cake, it results in a natural-looking makeup finish.
I dislike all those mascara commercials, because they are all so fake. Most of the models have fake eyelashes on in the commercials or its just edited with photoshop T_T FAKE! Watch the Imju Fiberwig commercial (Chinese): My opinion
I have been using this mascara for 2 months now and I actually like it since day 1 :) It's hard for me to find a good mascara because of my oily lids/skin and I'm allergic to some mascara's, but not to this one. - Pros & Cons: This mascara doesn't smudge at all, no clumps/flakes, it separates my lashes very well, it dries fast and it's very easy to remove with warm water. It lengthen my eyelashes just a little bit (maybe 2 mm) by putting 2-3 layers on, it doesn't look like false eyelashes at all, but it will give you a natural look and I like it :) It holds my curl for a half day, which is a pity =( I wish it could hold it for the whole day. The price for this product is quite high, $20-$25 for a mascara is expensive, I would buy it if it was on sale lol =p
♥Repurchase? YES! ♥ My rate: ♥♥♥♥♥ 5/5
Have you used this product before? Or would you like to try it?
